Munro Track

Munro Track (1900 – 1905) is a 66 KM long old, British Era route traversing different valleys, forests & ridges of mountains of Mansera District (KPK) in Pakistan. KPK Government of Pakistan revived this track for hiking, trekking & camping and established ‘Tourist Villages’ along the route. The track starts and ends at old British-era forest rest houses, from Kund Bangla and Kamal Ban Rest House. The track starts from Kund Bangla from the top of the mountains at 2250m. The passes from the beautiful ridge of the mountains connecting two valleys, Siren and Kaghan, Galis/Passes, Nadi Bangla, Naga Forest, Mali Meadows, Sharran Forest, Manshi Top, and Kamal Ban Forest.

 

Musa Ka Musalla (MKM) Peak

MKM Peak is at an altitude of more than 4000m and it is the junction of Siren and Kaghan Valley of the Himalayan Mountain range. It is situated in Mansera District.

Balkot to Kund Bangle (Jeeps) Starting Point of Munro Trail

Option 1 (21km distance and 1100m ascent) Kund to Nadi Bangla

Option 2 (32km distance and 1600m ascent) Kund to Nadi Bangla to Jabbri

Sunday 29th of June 2025

MKM Peak to Jabbri to MKM Peak (18/20km distance and 1800m ascent)

Jabbri to Balakot on Jeeps

Balakot Islamabad

Meetup Time & Place: At 05.30 pm at PSO Gas Station near Beverly Centre F-6/1 Blue Area, Islamabad
Leaving Time at 06:00 pm from Islamabad to Balakot
Dinner in Balakot city
Night Stay in Hotel Gateway Balakot
 
Saturday 28th of June 2025

Breakfast at 04:00 am
Move into at 05:00 am for Kund Bangla (Starting Point Munro Track)
Arrival at Kund Bangla at 07:00 am
Run starts at 07:30 am
Arrival at Nadi Bangla at 01:00 to 02:00 pm
Short Break or reassemble at Nadi Bangla
Option 2 group members will continue for Jabbri and Option 1 group members will come on a jeep from Nadi Bangla to Jabbri
Refreshment at Jabbri (where we will stay the night)
Set up of Camps
Dinner at 08:00 to 09:00 pm
Sleep well in tents at Jabbri Meadows
Sunday 29th of June 2025 (20km and 1800m ascent)
Breakfast at 06:00 am
Run Starts at 07:00 am
Reassemble (optional) at Naga Village or Mali Meadows
Final Push for MKM Peak (It will all depend on the weather and other conditions)
Come down from the same route
Lunch at 03:00 pm at Jabbri
Wrap up Camps
Move into Jeeps at 05:00 pm for Balakot
Leave for Islamabad from Balakot at 07:00 pm

Compulsory and Optional Gear

Trail Running Vest
Sleeping Bag and Mat
Mobile/cell phone keep the phone turned on and make sure the phone is fully charged at the start of the event.
Personal cup/beaker 15cl minimum in addition to bottles or flasks.
Bottles, flasks, or water bladder that holds a minimum of 2 liter of liquid.
Whistle+
Self-adhesive elasticated bandage which can serve as a bandage or strapping
Food reserve - Recommendation: 2000kcal 
Jacket with a hood that will withstand bad weather in the mountains and made with a waterproof and breathable membrane.
It is the runner's responsibility to judge if their jacket is both wind- and waterproof.
Hat/Cap or bandana
It can be a windproof jacket, but it does not replace the obligatory waterproof jacket and vice versa.
Extra clothes, socks, full sleeve or T-shirt, sunglasses
Toiletries
Chappal/Sandals
Participants must carry their CNIC/Passport
