Galiyat Mountain Trail: Recce II (Thandiyani to Nathia Gali)

Master the Galiyat Mountain Trail Race before race day! Margalla Trail Runners (MTR) is organizing the second official recce to help participants familiarize themselves with the 100k, 60k, 40k, and 20k race routes. This session covers the full 40k course and more than half of the 100k and 60k race route.

If you are aiming for the iTRA (International Trail Running Association) and UTMB Index races on 18th-19th July 2026, this high-altitude endurance test is essential.

Event Highlights

• Date: Sunday, 7th June 2026

• Route: Thandiyani Top → Berin Gali → Dagri Bungalow → Kunna Meadows → Miranjani Top → Nathia Gali (Miranjani Base) → Nathia Gali Club

• The Experience: Run through the most scenic, linked trail network in the Abbottabad District, featuring lush meadows and challenging ridgelines.

• Distance: 36km

• Elevation Gain: 1500m

• Duration: 6 to 8 hours

• Level: Advanced & Difficult

• Terrain: Technical Trail

Logistics & Gear

• Meeting Point: PSO Station (Beverly Centre), F-6, Islamabad

• Meeting Time: 03:00 am | Run Start: 06:30 am

• Mandatory Gear: Trail/multi-terrain shoes, 5-10L running vest, rain jacket, hat, and sunglasses.

• Nutrition: 2L water, ORS, dates, bananas, and chocolates.
